Tutte le strade portano a Roma

All roads lead to Rome is an old expression which means that regardless of the means or the tool that you use to confront or solve a problem, the outcome is always the same.
But why do we use this expression? The phrase comes from the fact that during the expansion of the Roman empire, the streets which the Romans built were organized in such a way that from any town, particularly large cities and commercial centers, it was possible to get to Rome via one of the many ‘imperial roads’.
But there is one road in particular that we want to tell you about, a road that if taken slowly, by yourself or with the right person, will take you through the stunning Umbrian countryside all the way to the Eternal City: The St. Francis Way (or Cammino di Francesco).
