I spent last July/August taking private lessons with Elisa and Porzia at Artelingua, and I had a wonderful time. The school is a warm, intimate place for learning Italian (same goes for the city of Spoleto). Elisa is a highly-trained, experienced Italian instructor with a sharp sense of humor. She's also a local who knows Spoleto like the back of her hand and goes out of her way to build a sense of community among her diverse students. My classes with Porzia, meanwhile, were special; she took me on a month-long tour of Italian cinema that felt both like a university course and an extended conversation with a dear friend. I loved it. I can't recommend this school and town enough if you are looking to improve your Italian while escaping the tourist hordes. Grazie mille, Elisa e Porzia. Vi mando un abbraccio da Atlanta! 29 giugno 2022 Cara Elisa, Porzia, e Deborah, Voglio solo dire grazie a voi per la mia esperienza alla scuola ArteLingua per tre settimane a maggio e giugno di quest'anno. Non ero uno studente facile. Questo lo so. Ero più vecchio della normale e i miei livelli di capacità variavano molto, soprattutto la differenza tra la mia capacità di leggere e la mia capacità di conversare. Ancora, tutti mi avete incontrato e sfidato [nuova parola] a tutti i livelli: una settimana in una classe un po' al di sopra del mio livello; due, una settimana esattamente al mio livello; e tre a settimana con un gruppo che avrebbe potuto essere un po' al di sotto del mio livello. In ogni settimana e in ogni contesto, ho imparato, ho incontrato persone fantastiche, ho sentito che vi siete presi cura di me. Certo, mi piace anche l'ambientazione a Spoleto in Piazza Garibaldi. During one year I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time in beautiful Spoleto! Everytime I went, I made as many appointments with Elisa as possible. Thanks to her flexible attitude we managed to do make al lot of individual appointments. These lessons were one of the highlights of my time in Spoleto. I improved my italian a great deal and had lots of fun. Elisa focuses on spoken language and words/sentences you can use immediately, and includes useful 'lessons' on culture and habits. I do not know if I will ever be able to dress like an italian, but it was great fun talking about it (and about food af course... and many other habits). I can not wait to go back and meet Elisa again. I hoop this will soon be possible!

I had the pleasure of working with Elisa for 2 weeks. She’s a terrific teacher with a deep sense of and feel for language. For instance, she organized irregular verbs into identifiable patterns. Our hours together flew because she matched the tempo to my energy levels. She is an energetic, bright, thoughtful person...someone you would want to spend time with doing anything. I wholeheartedly recommend her and her school.

I spent a week in Spoleto in July and thoroughly enjoyed my classes with Elisa who is an exceptional teacher. The classes were very interesting and a lot of fun. Elisa Is dedicated, knowledgeable and very encouraging. She has helped me improve greatly and I truly recommend her. Grazie Elisa!

Grazie mille di nuovo! Ho la fortuna di viaggiare spesso a Spoleto e ogni volta che sono qui studio l'italiano con Elisa. Lei è gentile, paziente e ben informata. Voglio continuare a migliorare il mio italiano e so che lo farò con Artelingua!

I could not be happier with the course prepared for me by Tamara and Elisa which involved one month of private lessons, 5 days a week. I found Tamara, my principal teacher, to be an exceptional teacher. She was patient, enthusiastic and always encouraging. My progress under her supervision surprised me. I could not recommend both Tamara and Artelingua more highly

I thoroughly enjoyed my month with with Elisa at Artelingua. I had studied Italian at university in Australia, and under Elisa's patient and careful tutelage I have achieved greater proficiency and improved my understanding of Italian culture and history.

We do not have enough words to say what an amazing experience we had with artelingua. Elisa has a fantastic program and excellent teachers. Our teacher was Tamara and she was outstanding. We were a perfect match! We learned so much in just one week and then spent six weeks practicing our Italian through Italy talking to people in the streets, on trains, festivals, etc. We were called "bravi" many times when we told people we had just taken one week of classes. We would recommend this school and teachers to everyone! It was truly one of the best experiences of our lives! Grazie Mille Elisa and Tamara....
