Convivio is a conference of authors and artists, academics and professionals, who engage in hands-on workshops, lectures, cultural tours, and more in Umbria, Italy.

Convivio unites artists, university professors, and professionals from all walks of life for a unique conference experience in a hilltop hamlet beautiful beyond words, il Castello di Postignano.

Founders of the program are Dr. Chad Davidson, M.A. from the University of North Texas and a Ph.D. from Binghamton University; and DrGregory Fraser, M.F.A. from Columbia University and a Ph.D. from the University of Houston.

Convivio gathers workshops and discussions devoted to the power of creative thought, divergent thinking, and the wonders of cultural discovery.

Elisa Bassetti, director and instuctor of Artelingua Language Courses, has joined the program in summer 2019 holding lectures around Italian language and culture which present an innovative approach to language learning. Discovering of local history, language vocabulary and cultural narration are made suitable for any learners, material presented is original and created on purpose for Convivio.

As one participant noted, “You’re not a tourist at Convivio . . . you’re Italian for a time.”
