I mestieri – Il calzolaio di Via Porta Fuga

As you walk along Spoleto’s historic streets, not far from the Torre dell’Olio and close to number 32 Via Porta Fuga, there’s a good chance you’ll look up and be captivated by the sight of an ancient workshop: that of Mr. Giampiero Catanzani, Spoleto’s historic shoemaker, who spends every day repairing heels, gluing soles, stretching and tightening the shoes of the city’s residents, with great passion and expertise.

On this occasion of May 1st, Labour Day, we have decided to dedicate our teaching activity to him and to the ancient art of shoemaking.
