Litterature&Cinema convey many cultural meanings, idioms, traditions and symbols.

We all know that Language expresses our Culture and vice-versa: Cinema and Literature, in particular, convey many cultural meanings, idioms, traditions and symbols which bring us closer and closer to the perspective of a native speaker.

Artelingua offers this specialized course on Literature & Cinema, for which our teachers have selected the best literary passages and the most striking scenes from the movies, and created exclusive materials and hand-outs.

We will read excerpts from the most famous novels of contemporary literature (such as Alessandro Baricco, Nicholas Ammanniti, Margaret Mazzantini …) and compare them to the movie scenes. Consider films like The Legend of 1900, I’m Not Scared, Do not  Move… we will discuss the similarities and differences to the novels, the authors’ and filmmakers’ perspectives, and the language used in written and spoken speech.

New: Il giovane favoloso e Pasolini the 2014 most celebrated movies dedicated to Leopardi and Pasolini!

Finally, we will put our reading and writing abilities to the test. All “topped off” with a nice bit of irony and fun!

“Elisa has been a superb instructor of Italian for me over the last two years, through her deep knowledge of the language and the hard work she has put into preparing the classes. She is also very personable and helpful to her students. I also like very much Elisa´s creativity in using some of the most famous Italian movies (the most recent being ´Habemus Papam´ of Nani Moretti) as a medium of instruction to teach Italian language and culture. For those, who are interested in learning Italian, in a highly supportive environment, I strongly recommend Artelingua of Spoleto.” Donal, USA.

“Voglio dirti  che pensiamo spesso ai bei giorni a Spoleto. Siete delle professoresse bravissime e in grado di fare un insegnamento molto interessante”. Getraude, Germania.
